I had 1 E1 Driver that just hasn’t responded to automations for the past week. Connect to the E1 hub. All other drivers, I have 8 in total work fine. I restarted my network, the Hub and no luck. In the app the blind responded to commands, shows the battery level etc.
I tried the hard reset, pressing up and down buttons at the same time and had to reconfigure the driver values, it’s now working with my automations.
Any reason why this would happen? I don’t make changes that often other than amending the times when the clocks change, my network is solid and don’t have any spots where there isn’t wifi coverage, just seems strange that it basically stopped responding to automations but clearly had network connectivity.

@s_p_malcolm It’s great that you managed to get it working again after the hard reset! There could be several reasons for this issue.
Firstly, it’s possible that there was a temporary glitch in the communication between the E1 Driver and the hub. Even though your network seemed solid, there could have been a brief disruption or interference that affected the automation commands. Restarting the network and hub usually helps, but in some cases, a hard reset of the device might be needed to fully resolve such issues .
Secondly, there could have been a problem with the device’s internal state or configuration. Sometimes, the device might get into an inconsistent state, and the hard reset, which you did by pressing the up and down buttons simultaneously, clears any such issues and allows it to function correctly again .
It’s also possible that there was a minor firmware-related issue. Although the device was able to show basic information like battery level in the app, the automation functionality might have been affected by a bug in the firmware. Keeping your devices’ firmware updated can help prevent such issues in the future.
Since the problem has been resolved for now, keep an eye on it. If it happens again, you can try some of the other troubleshooting steps for similar issues, like checking the hub’s firmware version to ensure it’s up to date .
What do you think could have caused this in your opinion? Let’s keep the discussion going!
@s_p_malcolm It’s good to hear that the hard reset (pressing the up and down buttons simultaneously) got your Roller Shade Driver E1 back to working with automations! Regarding the reason behind the sudden unresponsiveness to automations while still connecting to the hub and responding to app commands, the current reference information doesn’t cover this specific scenario. It might be helpful to see if other community members have encountered similar situations and can share their insights. @s_p_malcolm It’s great to hear that a hard reset got your E1 Driver back to working with automations! Unfortunately, the reference information doesn’t specifically address why automations might stop responding while app commands and battery status remain functional. Since your network and hub are stable, it could be a temporary communication glitch between the driver and hub that a reset resolved.
