Run Ethernet For PoE - DIY or no?

Did you run ethernet yourself or hire someone? I want to hire someone but not sure what kind of company does this or if I should find someone on like a task rabbit app?

It’s DIY up to a point. If you’re going through finished ceilings, between floors, etc. it gets gradually more complicated.

Decide what cable you want too. If it’s just in the wall no big deal. If it’s running through ducts your building code may need it plenum rated.

Make sure the cable supports your future speed requirements.
Cat5 - cheap but obsolete. If the installer recommends that look for another.

Cat6 supports up to 10Gbps. Limited distance (55m). Longer than that it may slow to 1Gbps.
Cat6a for up to 100m at 10Gbps. thicker, stiffer and more expensive. So you need to weigh the speed vs distance vs cost.
