Rural Setup Success: Wyze Outdoor Camera Without a Router

Living in rural America without traditional internet has always been a challenge, but I’ve managed to create a reliable setup using a Verizon MiFi hotspot. This hotspot acts as my router, plugged in 24/7 to maintain constant connectivity. I’ve been using Blink cameras for my outdoor security, but now I’m excited to try Wyze’s outdoor camera system for better performance at my new location.

The issue I’m facing is that the Wyze Outdoor Camera Hub requires a wired connection to a router, which I don’t have. Instead, I rely on my hotspot. I’ve heard that older routers can be repurposed to extend a hotspot signal, and I have a Netgear N150 WNR1000v3 sitting unused. My question is, can I configure this router to act as a signal repeater for my hotspot? If so, how?

I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully integrated a hotspot with a Wyze setup or has experience repurposing old routers. Any advice or step-by-step guides would be incredibly helpful! Let’s troubleshoot this together and find a solution that keeps my setup secure and functional without the need for a traditional router.
