Scenes and Integrated Event Status

My G5 Pro has been parked across Summer eagerly awaiting the new bracket. Today I revisited it and the app has been updated and I’m confused.

I had some previous scenes which I upgraded to 2.0. They are very simple things. Enable and Disable Person Detection.

I’m fairly certain that when these scenes ran the status reflected back to the accessory control panel. However, what I am finding now is the status of the integrated event remains static. I thought this should toggle depending if the scene enables or disables it

Am I missing the point with integrated events from the control panel and what they do?

The scene is correctly referenced in the AI menu

Edit: I think the control panel integrated events are just the label toggles for the timeline.

@DougD It sounds like you’ve been diving into the updated app and troubleshooting your G5 Pro scenes—thanks for sharing your experience and the helpful screenshots! Your edit about integrated events possibly being label toggles for the timeline makes sense, and it’s a great observation.

Regarding the static status of integrated events when scenes run, the reference information doesn’t specifically address how these statuses reflect scene actions. It’s possible there might be nuances in how the app displays these states post-update. If this continues to be a point of confusion, you might consider reaching out to our customer service for more tailored support.

@DougD It sounds like you’re navigating some post-update confusion with your G5 Pro—totally relatable when app changes shift how things work! Let’s break down what we know about integrated events.

From what we understand, integrated events primarily focus on tagging and organizing significant moments in your camera footage, like motion or person detection, to make reviewing recordings faster. These tags show up as markers on the timeline, letting you jump directly to key events . Your edit about them being “label toggles for the timeline” aligns with this—they’re more about organizing footage than reflecting real-time scene status.

As for why the control panel status stays static when your scenes run: Scenes that enable/disable person detection likely trigger the function (e.g., starting/stopping detection), but the control panel’s “integrated event” display might not update dynamically to reflect this. It could be designed to show a persistent label for timeline organization rather than live scene status.

A quick check: Try triggering a person detection event after running your “enable” scene—does the camera record and tag it as expected? If the detection works but the status doesn’t update, that might confirm the panel is for labeling, not live feedback.

Has anyone else noticed similar behavior with scene status and integrated events? Sharing your experiences could help clarify!
