Schlage Door Lock Integration: A Smooth Experience with ISY

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my recent experience with the Schlage door lock. It was a great gift for Christmas and I must say, the installation process was surprisingly straightforward. Pairing it with my ISY was a breeze—excluding and including the device worked seamlessly, even from a distance of about 20 feet. The external antenna I have didn’t seem to be necessary, which was a pleasant surprise!

The Schlage lock has been functioning beautifully with my ISY setup. Adding or removing access codes was a cinch, and the integration felt almost seamless. However, I did notice a couple of areas where I’d love to see improvements. For instance, while I can manage the codes effortlessly, I wish there was a way to view or label them more intuitively. Currently, it just lists users without any indication of which ones have active codes, which is a bit confusing. I’m currently using a spreadsheet to keep track, but a built-in feature for this would be a nice addition.

Another thing I’ve been exploring is the potential for more advanced automation. I’m curious if it’s possible to trigger different actions based on the code entered. For example, if my neighbor uses their code to enter while I’m away, I’d love for the lights to turn on and receive a notification. I tried setting up some rules using the ISY, but I couldn’t quite get it to work as intended. Maybe there’s a more sophisticated way to handle this that I’m missing.

Overall, I’m really happy with how the Schlage lock has integrated into my smart home setup. It’s added an extra layer of convenience and security, and I’m excited to see how it can be further customized in the future. If anyone has tips or tricks for enhancing its functionality, I’d love to hear them!
