Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with my Schlage Connect lock. It’s been working perfectly for almost two months now, but suddenly, it stopped responding to app commands. The lock still updates occasionally in the ‘Recently’ section, but it’s hit or miss. If it shows as locked, tapping ‘Unlock’ in the SmartThings app just keeps trying without success. The same goes the other way around—it won’t lock when I tell it to.
I’ve tried the ‘Replace’ feature, but the instructions I found said it would spin for a few minutes trying to find the device to replace. However, it never finds anything. I haven’t tried a force remove yet because I need a long data cable to connect my hub closer to the lock for reinstallation. I did replace the batteries, which were at 99%, and now they show 100%, so it still has some connection to the app.
When I first installed the lock, I connected it to the hub, then placed it in the door. Now, it’s acting up, and I’m not sure why. My front door is only about 15 feet and one wall away from the hub, so I don’t think it’s a signal strength issue. I haven’t changed or added anything to the system in three weeks.
I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions from the community. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Did you find a solution? I’m hoping to get this sorted out soon. Thanks in advance for your help!
