Hey everyone, I’ve been having some trouble with my Schlage Z-Wave lock, and I’m hoping someone here might have some insights or suggestions. I migrated this lock from SmartThings, and while it worked there, it’s been inconsistent ever since. About 70% of the time, I can’t even get it to connect or report its status. This is especially frustrating because I rely on it for remote access, and it’s simply not reliable enough for that purpose.
Another issue I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t work well with automation rules. For example, I wanted to set it up so that when the door is unlocked after dark, it turns on the outside lights or the foyer lights. But since the lock doesn’t consistently report its status, the rule doesn’t trigger reliably.
I’m wondering if others have experienced similar problems with their Schlage Z-Wave locks. Is this something that could be resolved with a firmware update, or would upgrading to a newer Z-Wave Plus model help? I’m considering the latter, but I want to make sure it’s worth the investment before I take the plunge.
If anyone has any tips or advice, I’d really appreciate hearing from you! Maybe there’s a configuration tweak I’m missing or a setting I haven’t adjusted properly. Let’s hope we can figure this out together.
