As the holiday season approaches, I’ve been thinking about how to efficiently deploy smart plugs for my Christmas decorations. In the past, I’ve relied on a mix of Z-Wave and Zigbee plugs, but I’ve always struggled with what to do with them once the festive season is over. Storing them disrupts my home mesh, and leaving them in place feels wasteful.
This year, I’m considering switching to all Wi-Fi plugs to simplify the process. They’d be easy to remove and store without affecting my Hubitat environment. Plus, it would eliminate the need for dead nodes in my device list.
