As a long-time Nexia user, I recently made the switch to SmartThings due to its flexibility and integration capabilities. However, I’ve run into a challenge that I’m hoping the community can help me overcome. I’m looking for a way to replicate the simple yet powerful scheduling features I used to enjoy with Nexia.
With Nexia, creating one-time or recurring schedules was incredibly straightforward. For instance, I could set my thermostat to adjust temperatures for specific events like weekly cleaner visits or seasonal adjustments. The ability to reuse and modify these schedules without creating new ones each time was a huge convenience.
Now, on SmartThings, I’m finding the scheduling options more limited. While I understand the appeal of weekly routines, I miss the ability to create dynamic, event-based schedules that don’t require manual reconfiguration every time my plans change. I’m curious if there’s an app or workaround within the SmartThings ecosystem that can offer this level of flexibility.
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s found a solution or has tips on how to achieve this. Whether it’s through third-party apps, custom routines, or even a bit of scripting, I’m all ears! This seems like a feature that could greatly enhance the SmartThings experience, and I’m hopeful the community can shed some light on the possibilities.
Thanks in advance for your insights and support!
Best regards,
Scott
