Hello everyone! I’m new to the world of home automation and I’m currently exploring the capabilities of Homey. I came across a challenge while trying to set up an automated system for my bathroom ventilation, and I thought I’d reach out to the community for some guidance.
Here’s the setup: I have a Xiaomi humidity sensor and a Xiaomi switch controlling my ventilation system. My goal is to have the ventilation activate when the humidity exceeds 65% and deactivate when it drops below 60%. Sounds straightforward, right? But I’m running into some issues with the flow configuration.
I tried setting up a flow where the sensor triggers the ventilation when the humidity is above 65%, but it doesn’t seem to work consistently. I’m not sure if I’m missing something in the configuration. Should I be using a time-based trigger instead? Or perhaps there’s a better way to ensure the system checks the humidity regularly.
I’ve seen some examples where users have used a combination of sensors and timers, but I’m not entirely sure how to structure that in Homey. Maybe I need to set up a recurring check every few minutes to ensure the system responds promptly to changes in humidity.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully set up a similar system. Any tips, tricks, or recommended settings would be incredibly helpful! I’m also curious if there are any best practices for maintaining consistent automation, especially with Xiaomi devices.
Thank you in advance for your insights and advice. I’m really excited to get this working and to continue exploring the possibilities with Homey!
