Hello everyone, I’m relatively new to the world of smart home automation and have been exploring Hubitat after transitioning from Wink. I’ve managed to set up a couple of Simple Automation apps for my front lights, which has been a great learning experience. The first app successfully turns the lights on at sunset, and it’s been working perfectly. However, I’m encountering an issue with the second app, which is designed to turn the lights off at 11 PM. Despite my best efforts, this app doesn’t trigger as expected, and I’m unsure of what I might be missing.
I’m curious if there’s a need to link these two apps together or if there’s a specific setting I’ve overlooked. Additionally, I’m exploring the possibility of using contact sensors instead of motion detectors for my garage lights. My goal is to have the lights activate when I open the laundry door and automatically turn off after five minutes. I’ve set this up, and the lights do come on when the door is opened, but they never turn off, which is perplexing.
I’ve reviewed the logs and noticed that no off trigger seems to be sent, even though the contact closures and light switches function correctly in other scenarios. I suspect I might be missing a crucial step in the Motion Lighting app setup, but I’m not entirely sure how to proceed. Any guidance or suggestions from the community would be greatly appreciated. I’m eager to learn and refine my automation skills, so your insights would be invaluable.
Thank you in advance for your help and support!
