Seeking Advice on Motion Sensor Automation Delays

Hello everyone! I’m hoping you can help me with a bit of a puzzle I’m facing with my smart home setup. I’ve recently added a motion sensor and vibration sensor to automatically turn on the lights in my hallway, but I’m encountering a bit of a delay that’s a bit frustrating.

The issue is that the Smart Life app is taking about 4 seconds to alert after motion is detected. While this might not seem like a big deal, it’s really impacting the effectiveness of my automation. I’m trying to get the lights to turn on instantly when someone walks by, but the delay means the lights often come on too late or not at all if someone moves quickly past the sensor.

I’m using Wiz smart lights and a SmartThings hub, and I’ve set up the automation through the SmartThings app. I’ve tried tweaking the settings and even looked into creating some custom commands, but nothing seems to help reduce the delay. I’m wondering if this is a limitation of the app or if there’s something I can do to speed things up.

Does anyone have any tips or experience with similar issues? I’d really appreciate any advice on how to get the lights to respond more quickly or if there are alternative motion sensors that might work better for my setup. The goal is to have the lights turn on almost instantly when motion is detected and then turn off after a short delay, say 5 seconds, unless motion is detected again. It’s a bit tricky, but I’m sure there’s a way to make it work!

Thanks in advance for your help! I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences. Let’s see if we can crack this together!
