Hi everyone, I’m new to this forum and I’m looking for some advice before I start investing in smart home technology. My goal is to create an accessible smart home for my disabled parents, who rely on Amazon Alexa and Kasa TP-Link plugs for convenience. I want to ensure their new annex is as user-friendly as possible.
I’ve been considering the TKB Home TZ57 light switches and a Samsung SmartThings Hub to control lighting scenes. Additionally, I plan to integrate a Nest Thermostat for temperature control. However, I’ve noticed that neither the TKB switches nor the Nest products are officially supported, which is a bit concerning.
I’m fairly tech-savvy, having custom-built PCs and managed networks before, but this is new territory for me. I’d greatly appreciate any insights, tips, or recommendations from experienced users on setting up these devices seamlessly. Thanks in advance for your help!
