Hey everyone, I’m reaching out for some advice regarding a technical issue I’ve been facing with my Z-Wave setup. I’ve been using OpenHAB for a while now, and while it’s been a fantastic platform for experimenting and learning, I’ve hit a snag that’s been quite frustrating.
Since upgrading to OpenHAB version 2.5, my Z-Wave controller has been cycling between connecting and disconnecting. I’ve tried resetting the controller, rebooting the system, and even reinstalling the Z-Wave binding, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. The logs show a consistent pattern of the controller disconnecting and reconnecting, which is causing instability in my smart home setup.
I’m not particularly tech-savvy, and this issue has made me consider switching to a more user-friendly platform like Home Assistant. While OpenHAB is great for experimentation, I can see how it might not be the best choice for a production environment, especially for someone without a strong technical background.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Z-Wave controllers after an OpenHAB upgrade? I’d love to hear if there are any solutions or workarounds that others have found effective. Additionally, I’m curious to know if others share my sentiment about the platform’s complexity and whether they’ve successfully transitioned to more user-friendly alternatives.
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time and help. ![]()
