Seeking Advice on Z-Wave Migration and Camera Setup

Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I’m reaching out to the community for some guidance on a few projects I’ve been working on. First, let me introduce myself—I’ve been exploring the world of smart home automation for about a year now, and it’s been an incredible journey! However, I’ve hit a few bumps along the way and could really use some expert insights.

Z-Wave Migration Dilemma
I’ve been using the legacy Z-Wave binding for my devices, but I’ve heard great things about the native OpenHAB 2 Z-Wave binding. I decided to give it a try by migrating my devices. However, the process has been quite challenging. I have around 80 Z-Wave devices, and during the migration, the radio queue builds up to over 500, which takes an eternity to clear. I’ve tried reusing the Z-Wave directory from the legacy binding, but it doesn’t seem to help—it just walks through all the devices again. This is super frustrating because I have to switch back to the legacy binding to keep everything running smoothly. Does anyone have tips on how to speed this up or make it more efficient? I’m really hoping to stick with the native binding for better compatibility and performance.

Camera Storage Struggles
Another issue I’ve been dealing with is camera storage. I recently had to delete some files because my USB drive was full, and now my Blink cameras aren’t behaving as expected. When the USB is removed, I get live notifications, but when it’s plugged back in, I don’t see any new clips, and notifications have stopped. It’s like the cameras are still recording but not saving anything. Has anyone encountered this before? Any workarounds or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

A Little Tip for Others
While I’m waiting for help with these issues, I wanted to share a tip that might be useful for others. I recently discovered the Amcrest ProHD 1080P camera, and it’s been a game-changer for me. The video quality is fantastic, and the setup was straightforward. If you’re in the market for a new camera, I’d highly recommend giving this one a look!

Looking Forward to Your Insights
I’m really excited to hear from the community and learn from your experiences. Whether it’s advice on Z-Wave migration, camera storage solutions, or just general tips on optimizing smart home setups, I’m all ears! Thanks in advance for your support and wisdom. Let’s keep the smart home revolution going strong! :rocket:
