Hey everyone, I’ve encountered an interesting challenge after updating the firmware on my APC Smart-UPS device. I thought updating to the latest firmware versions would enhance performance, but it seems to have caused some unintended consequences. Specifically, the APC LCD buttons are no longer functioning as they should. When I try to navigate through the menus, the screen flashes ‘LANGUAGE/ENGLISH’ but doesn’t allow me to select any options. The power button, which is connected via a separate cable, still works fine, which is a bit of a relief.
I updated both the UPS firmware to version 3.8 and the CBL (control board) firmware to version 2.2. In the process, I also had to update the CBL from version 1.0 to 2.2. I’ve tried rolling back the firmware, but it doesn’t seem to resolve the issue. I’m now considering whether a complete reinstallation of all updates might help, but I’m not sure if that’s the best approach.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues after updating their APC firmware? I’d love to hear if there’s a workaround or a solution that others have found effective. I’m hoping this isn’t a brick situation, but I’m definitely concerned at this point. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Let’s see if we can figure this out together.
