I’m relatively new to the world of Home Assistant and am eager to dive deeper into its capabilities. I’ve successfully set up several light bulbs individually, but I’m now looking to take things a step further by controlling them as a group.
Here’s where I’m at: I have five light bulbs that I’d like to manage together using a single brightness slider on my Home Assistant dashboard. The goal is to adjust the brightness of all these lights simultaneously with just one touch. Sounds straightforward, but I’m hitting a snag in the setup.
I’ve explored the configuration options and believe I need to create a custom integration or use some form of automation, but I’m not entirely sure how to proceed. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Individual Light Configuration: Each bulb is correctly configured and works as expected when controlled individually.
- Dashboard Setup: I’ve navigated to the dashboard section where I believe the group control should be set up, but I’m not finding the right settings to link all five bulbs together under a single slider.
- Research: I’ve checked the official documentation and some community forums, but the information seems a bit fragmented for someone at my skill level.
I’m hoping the community can shed some light (pun intended) on how to achieve this. Perhaps there’s a specific integration or a clever way to use automations that I haven’t discovered yet. Any guidance, tips, or step-by-step instructions would be incredibly appreciated!
