Hello, everyone! I’m new to the Home Assistant community and I’m currently exploring how to set up some scenes or automations for my Daikin AC unit. I’ve managed to get a basic automation working using the UI editor, which turns the AC on and off at specific times. However, I’m now looking to create some more advanced scenes, such as a ‘No AC’ mode and a ‘Night-time AC’ mode that adjusts the temperature and fan settings accordingly.
I’ve tried creating these scenes through the UI editor, but I’m running into some issues. For instance, when I activate the ‘No AC’ scene, the AC briefly turns off but then switches back on again, and the logbook doesn’t provide much detail on why this is happening. Similarly, the ‘Night-time AC’ scene changes the temperature momentarily before reverting back to the previous setting.
I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in how I’m configuring these scenes. Is there a better way to achieve what I’m looking to do, perhaps using automations or scripts instead? Also, I’m curious if this behavior is indicative of a bug in the Daikin integration or if it’s something else entirely. If it is a bug, should I report it on GitHub?
Any advice or tips you could share would be greatly appreciated! I’m really excited to get this working and to continue learning more about Home Assistant. Thanks in advance for your help!
