Seeking Help: Integrating SwitchBot Bot with Home Assistant Yellow

Hi everyone! I’m really excited to integrate my SwitchBot Bot into my Home Assistant Yellow (HAY) setup, but I’m hitting a couple of roadblocks. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tackled this or has some insights to share!

My goal is to use the SwitchBot Bot as a door opener by pressing my intercom button. I’ve already successfully connected other Bluetooth and Matter devices to my HAY, so I know the basics are covered. However, getting the SwitchBot Bot to work is proving tricky.

Bluetooth Integration Issues

Even though the SwitchBot Bot is right next to my HAY and pairs perfectly with the official SwitchBot app, Home Assistant keeps showing “No BT in Range”. I’ve tried everything from restarting both devices to reactivating pairing mode, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas on what settings I might be missing or known issues with HAY’s Bluetooth stack?

Matter Integration Challenges

Matter is my preferred route for a more stable and future-proof connection. However, scanning the QR code on the device results in an error. I’m wondering:

  • Does the SwitchBot Bot firmware V6.6 support Matter natively, or do I need an upgrade?
  • Are there specific Matter setup steps in Home Assistant I might have missed?
  • Could I be scanning the wrong QR code? The device has a few, and I’m not entirely sure which one is the correct Matter code.

I’m really hopeful to get this working and would be grateful for any troubleshooting tips or insights. If more details like error messages or screenshots would help, I’d be happy to provide them!

Thanks in advance for your help!
