Seeking Recommendations for Reliable Battery-Powered Security Sensors

Hello everyone! I hope this message finds you all well. I’m currently in the process of setting up a smart home security system using Hubitat, and I’ve encountered a bit of a challenge that I’d love to get your thoughts on.

I’ve been using Hubitat with a variety of sensors—door, window, motion, etc.—but I’ve run into an issue with battery levels. Specifically, some of my sensors are reporting a 20% battery level, but in reality, they’re already dead. This has led to some frustrating false alarms and a bit of a reliability issue with my system. I’d really like to find a solution that keeps my system running smoothly without the hassle of constantly replacing batteries or dealing with dead sensors.

I’m curious if anyone has had similar experiences or if there are specific sensors or configurations that have worked well for others. Are there particular brands or models that are known for accurate battery life reporting? Or perhaps tips on how to extend battery life without compromising performance?

I’d also love to hear if anyone has successfully integrated a system that doesn’t rely on monthly fees. I’d prefer to keep things DIY and avoid recurring costs if possible.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Let’s keep the conversation positive and focused on finding solutions. Looking forward to hearing from you all!
