About six months ago, I had 16 Wyze Sense Version 1 contact sensors integrated into my system. Unfortunately, they started malfunctioning one by one, and now I’m left without any. While I understand that battery replacement is part of maintenance, the fact that none could be fixed with tech support was disappointing. Wyze was helpful in offering some credit, but I’m still in need of a solution.
The reason I need these sensors is quite personal. My brother has a cognitive disorder, and we prefer using sensors over locks to help keep him safe without being overly restrictive. It’s a delicate balance, and having reliable sensors is crucial for our peace of mind.
Now, the challenge is that I’m in Canada, and the Wyze Sense Version 2 isn’t available here. I’ve been doing some research and have a few questions:

If I were to purchase a Sense Hub and Version 2 sensors from the US, would they work in Canada? Specifically, could they provide notifications for open doors or drawers and trigger Wyze bulbs and cameras without needing the monitoring service? Or is a US address required for setup?

Are there other brands that offer contact sensors which can be integrated via IFTTT? For example, could a sensor from another brand trigger a Wyze bulb when activated?
