I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave automation, and honestly, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. While most of my devices are working smoothly, there are a few stragglers that just won’t connect reliably. I’ve tried adding a repeater, but it’s been a bit of a letdown. I currently have an Aeotec Range Extender 7, which I’ve placed in various locations around my home. Despite giving it a full week to acclimate in each spot, the results have been underwhelming. Out of nine different locations, only three devices even noticed the repeater, and their performance actually got worse. It’s like the repeater is speaking a different language they just don’t understand.
I’m starting to think this might be due to the repeater being a C7 device, while most of my other devices are on older protocols. It’s frustrating because I want to strengthen my network without introducing new problems. I’ve heard great things about some other repeaters out there, but I’m not sure which one would play nice with my existing setup.
Has anyone had success with a particular Z-Wave Plus repeater that’s known for compatibility and reliability? I’m looking for something that can seamlessly integrate with my network and actually improve connectivity without causing more headaches. Any recommendations or tips would be invaluable!
