Hi everyone, I’m currently working on expanding my Zigbee mesh network throughout my home. I’ve been using the Deconz Conbee II stick on a Raspberry Pi 2B as my gateway, which is located in the basement. To ensure reliable coverage, I’ve been using Zigbee power sockets on every floor, particularly on the second floor.
Initially, I tried the LEDVANCE Smart+ Plugs, but their Zigbee connection proved to be unreliable. After about a week, I had to re-pair them with the gateway, which was frustrating because it meant re-pairing all my window sensors as well. I then switched to the Blitzwolf SHP13, which worked much better in terms of connection reliability. However, recently one of the Blitzwolf sockets had an issue after a main fuse fell out. The socket smelled a bit burned, even though nothing was plugged into it—it was only being used as a Zigbee extender.
This incident has made me a bit concerned about the quality control of the Blitzwolf SHP13, especially since I still have three of them in use, one of which powers my espresso machine. I’m now looking for a reliable alternative that can serve both as a Zigbee extender and as a dependable smart socket.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a high-quality, reliable smart socket that also ensures robust Zigbee connectivity? I’d appreciate any insights or experiences you’ve had with similar devices. Thanks in advance for your help!
