Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on automating my garage door with temperature monitoring. Earlier this week, I left my garage door open by accident, and it stayed open for quite some time. I was worried about the cold getting in since my garage is heated. I’d like to set up a system that can monitor the door and the outside temperature, and if the door is open for more than five minutes and the temperature drops below 60°F, it should automatically close the door.
I’ve just started exploring IFTTT, but it seems like it doesn’t support “AND” statements, which is crucial for my setup. My garage door controller is a Gogogate 1, which I don’t think is compatible with IFTTT. I saw a suggestion about using Numerous to simulate AND statements, but I believe Numerous is no longer available.
I also have a SmartThings setup, which I find pretty cool, but I feel like it needs more advanced rule capabilities. I’m considering upgrading to a Gogogate 2 or a SmartThings-compatible door controller, but I’m not sure if that’s the best route. Has anyone successfully set up something similar? Any tips or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated! I’d love to hear how others have tackled this challenge. Thanks in advance for your help!
