I’m on a mission to find the ideal night light for my kids’ bedrooms, and I’m hoping the community can offer some insights or recommendations. Here’s what I’m looking for:
- Connectivity: It should be compatible with my home automation system, preferably via Wi-Fi (MQTT) or Zigbee. I’m open to other options as well, and I’m comfortable with flashing devices if needed.
- Motion Sensor: A built-in motion sensor would be a huge plus, allowing the light to activate when my kids move around during the night.
- Modes: I need at least two modes—an ‘always on’ setting for the first hour after they fall asleep and a ‘motion-activated’ mode for the rest of the night. It should also be completely off during the day to save energy.
- Power Source: Outlet-powered is preferred, but battery-operated is acceptable if there’s no alternative.
My goal is to create a comforting and safe environment for my kids. I’ve been searching for something that ticks all these boxes, but so far, I haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for. Some options are connected but lack the functionality, while others don’t integrate with my smart home setup.
