Sensors keeps disconnecting need help

My door/window and the water leak sensors all take turn disconnecting several times a day. Has anyone else had problems with this and what is the fix. Have tried resetting each sensor and the hub.

@hopefulheart30 It’s frustrating when sensors keep disconnecting—let’s try to troubleshoot this together! For both your door/window and water leak sensors, disconnections often relate to signal or power issues. Here are some common fixes based on community insights:

For Water Leak Sensors:

  • Distance from Hub: If the sensor is too far from the Hub, signal weakens. The ideal distance is 7-10 meters with no obstacles . Try moving it closer and see if stability improves.
  • Battery Check: Low or dead batteries are a frequent culprit. Replace the battery to rule this out .
  • Avoid Metal Surfaces: Installing on metal can interfere with signals. Ensure the sensor is placed on non-metal surfaces .

For Door & Window Sensors:

  • Hub Distance: Similar to water leak sensors, if the Hub is too far, communication drops. Press the sensor’s reset button at its installation location—if the Hub makes a voice prompt, the connection is good; if not, move the sensor closer .

You mentioned resetting sensors and the Hub already, so these steps might help pinpoint the issue. This information comes from community discussions and user experience summaries and may vary by environment. Please verify carefully. Let us know if you try these and how it goes!

I’ve had this happen lately with the water leak sensors. My Door/Window sensors have not had this happen before.

I’ve noticed if I’m patient the sensors seem to return to normal status on their own but if they don’t I’ve simply pulled the coin battery out for a few seconds and that seems to fix the issue. A few other times I’m restarted the Hub they are connected to which also seemed to fix the issue.

It’s never the same sensors that go off line, it seems to be random and effects all different locations in my house. Signals are all strong and batteries are all 100% so I can’t figure it out but something is going on.

Hello, I read on the forum that someone registered the sensor through a smart light bulb that turned off at 220 volts and all Zigbee connections were broken. If possible, de-energize the house (or turn off all repeater devices) and re-bind the sensors directly to the gateway.

Hello, you can try just soaking the sensor and it should reappear (wake up).
