Setting/tunning FP2

I use 3 FP2 sensors and have quite good experience with them all, however all of them needed tweaking. I still run the AI learning from time to time as I have subjective feeling that it helps with ghost detection avoidance… Share your experience in achieving the best results with no false detection, ghosts etc. I would be keen to hear your experiences…

When the ghosts appear. Where on the map are they?

Are they at the edges of the map, where there are entrances and exits?

If so, be sure to check whether you’ve marked these locations as entrances/exits on the map under “Zone Management.” If not, create a zone with the attribute: “Exits and Entrances.”

If there’s a fan, a curtain, or something similar at that location, you should mark it as an “Interference Source”.

Otherwise, I’ve been having a few issues with ghosts with the current firmware.

Hi everyone, I’m currently having an issue with my Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 since the latest firmware update 1.3.6_0003.0099. It repeatedly detects a false presence, which keeps my kitchen lights turned on even when no one is in the area. To make it worse, when I check the app (as you can see in the attached screenshot), the “ghost” presence is located directly inside an area configured as an Interference Zone. Thanks a lot - zones exit/entrance set, no curtains, no fans no Aircon… ghosts appearing mostly in the living area zone (the only obstacle I can think of is a standing lamp)… I will read the post you indicated. Many thanks again…

Honestly I’ve never been able to completely fix ghost presence, but the FP2 started working a bit better just by itself. But the ghost presence still occurs.

The tricks I’ve also applied to make it less noticeable:

• I use zones instead of checking presence in the room. All my automations are based on zones
• Some zones (like my couch) are prioritized. So if there is presence on the sofa, then other automations don’t change the lights. For example: I have an automation that turns on the lights when someone walks through the living room, this does not run if the sofa automation sets the lights.
• I also use automations (say, in zone 2) that run ONLY AFTER presence is detected in zone 1. For example, the bed zone presence turns on the bed lights only if there was presence in the bedroom first. Because you need to enter the room first before you get into bed. That way, it prevents triggering automations when there is ghost presence in bed.

My wife also suggested that ghost presence may be caused by actual ghosts, so you may also consult an exorcist.

Well I am not sure but my guess is that the lates firmware update see more ghosts then actual ppl I have see many here on the forum with same issue.i asked Aqara to downgrade it to the 1.3.3 version and I have more then an week that my FP2 runs perfectly no ghosts like I had before.
