Hi everyone, I’m new to the Hubitat ecosystem and I’m trying to set up some lighting and fan automations. I have a few scenarios in mind and I’d love to get some guidance on how to approach them.
Scenario 1: I have a room with multiple Sylvania Zigbee dimmable bulbs and an Iris V2 motion sensor. I want the lights to turn on when motion is detected and turn off 3 minutes after motion stops. This seems straightforward, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure the delay properly.
Scenario 2: Similar to the first setup, but I want either of two motion sensors to trigger the lights. I’m wondering if I need to create a virtual switch or if Hubitat can handle this natively.
Scenario 3: In another room, I have a Zooz Zen27 dimmable switch and an Iris motion sensor. I want the lights to come on at 30% intensity between 10 PM and 6:30 AM and at 100% otherwise. I’m not sure how to integrate the time-based condition with the motion sensor.
Scenario 4: I have a Hampton Bay/Zooz ceiling fan with a Zigbee controller and an Iris motion sensor. I want the fan to start at low speed when the temperature reaches 71°F and increase by 2°F increments until it’s on max. I’m curious if this requires custom rules or if there’s a simpler way.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! I’m really excited to get these automations up and running. Looking forward to hearing from you all. ![]()
