I opted for the Wyze Cam Pan V2 because of its excellent video quality and motion tracking feature. It also integrates seamlessly with Alexa, which was a big plus for me. Plus, the price was unbeatable! -
Setting Up the Outdoor Lights:
To complement the cameras, I installed Govee outdoor lights. These aren’t just for lighting—they also have motion sensors that can trigger the lights when they detect movement. This adds an extra layer of security and deterrence for potential intruders. -
Integration with Alexa:
One of the best parts of this setup was integrating everything with Alexa. I can now control the cameras and lights using simple voice commands. It’s incredibly convenient and adds a whole new level of smart home functionality to my daily routine.
Challenges and Solutions:

At first, I noticed that the cameras were detecting every little movement, even things like falling leaves or birds. To address this, I adjusted the sensitivity settings and placed the cameras strategically to minimize false alarms. -
Battery Life:
I was worried about the battery life of the outdoor lights, especially during colder months. However, the Govee lights have held up surprisingly well. They’re designed to last, and the solar-powered option is a great add-on if you want to go completely eco-friendly.

Final Thoughts:
