Hi everyone, I’m fairly new to the world of smart home automation but I’ve managed to get most things working smoothly so far. I’ve been using the SmartThings hub v3 alongside my existing Lutron Caseta dimmers, and everything has integrated nicely so far. However, I’ve noticed a couple of features that I’d really like to implement but haven’t quite figured out how yet. I’d love to hear your thoughts or any tips you might have!
First, I’d love to set up my lights to turn on at sunset but then turn off at a specific time, say 12:00 AM. From what I can tell, the automation options either let me set on/off times manually or tie everything to sunrise and sunset. I’d prefer not to have the lights stay on all night, so being able to combine these two would be ideal. It would also be great if I could have different schedules for different days of the week, but that’s a bonus for now!
Second, I’m trying to figure out how to set the location for sunset times. Right now, it seems like the app is using my phone’s location, which isn’t always accurate or consistent. I’d really like the sunset timing to be based on the physical location of my hub, not my phone. I’ve looked through the app settings but haven’t found an option for this yet. Any ideas on how to set this up properly?
Everything else has been working smoothly so far, and I’m really impressed with how automations have simplified my daily routine. I’m sorry if this has been covered before, but I didn’t find anything exact in my searches. Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can offer!
