Hey everyone, I’m currently working on integrating my Shelly 1 Plus into my home automation setup, and I wanted to share my experience and ask for some advice. I’ve been using Shelly devices for a while now, and they’ve been a great addition to my smart home. However, I’m running into a bit of a challenge with my garage door automation setup.
I have a Shelly 1 Plus connected to the lamp output of my garage door motor controller. When the motor gets power, the Shelly turns on and triggers a scene that controls the lights outside my garage. These lights aren’t directly connected to the controller; instead, they’re controlled by another Shelly device. This setup works fine in theory, but there’s a slight delay between the garage door opening and the lights turning on.
I suspect this delay is because the Shelly connected to the controller takes a moment to power up and go online. I was wondering if there’s a way to eliminate this delay. My initial thought was to power the Shelly with a constant power supply and connect a cable from the controller’s switch output to the Shelly’s input. This setup would essentially mimic a light switch, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s the best approach.
I’m also curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues or has found a workaround. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I’m really looking forward to hearing from the community and learning how others have tackled this kind of automation challenge. Thanks in advance for your help! ![]()
