I’ve been struggling with my Shelly 1PM for a while now, and I wanted to share my experiences and what I’ve learned in case it helps someone else. The problem was that after a few switch operations, the device would stop responding and reboot, which was really frustrating, especially since it seemed to work fine initially.
I tried everything from hardware swaps to firmware updates, and even changing the switch connections. Nothing worked consistently. The device would randomly reboot, and it was impossible to predict when it would happen.
Here’s what I discovered: The issue was with the output load. When I removed the output load (keeping the O terminal open), the Shelly ran perfectly without any reboots. This made me realize that the problem was related to the device handling the load rather than the device itself.
After some research, I found that the Shelly 1PM might struggle with certain types of loads, especially if they’re inductive or have high startup currents. In my case, it was a halogen transformer with a 50W load. I decided to test with a different load and found that using an LED driver instead made a huge difference. The device has been stable ever since!
My advice: If you’re experiencing similar issues, try testing your Shelly with different loads to see if the problem persists. Also, ensure your wiring is correct and that you’re not exceeding the device’s specifications. It’s a fantastic device once you get it sorted out!
If anyone has more insights or alternative solutions, I’d love to hear them. Let’s keep the discussion going! ![]()
