Hey everyone, I’ve been using the Shelly 2.5 as a smart blinds controller for a few months now, and I’ve got to say, it’s been a game-changer for my home automation setup. The ability to control my blinds with voice commands via Google Home has been seamless—opening, closing, or setting them to specific percentages works like a charm. However, I’ve been curious about taking this integration a step further.
One feature I’d love to utilize is direct control within the Google Home app without relying solely on voice commands. For instance, with my Philips Hue lights, I can easily adjust brightness or toggle them on/off directly in the app. I’m wondering if there’s a way to achieve similar functionality with my Shelly 2.5 units for my blinds. Is this something that’s possible out of the box, or would it require additional firmware or workarounds?
Currently, when I select the Shelly device in the Google Home app, I only see options to rename it or change the room, which is a bit limiting. I understand that the Shelly app provides full control, but integrating this functionality more deeply with Google Home would make for a more cohesive user experience. I’ve done some digging and reached out to the community for insights, but I’m still exploring my options.
In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with different setups and configurations, and I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar challenges. Have you managed to achieve direct control within the Google Home app? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to your thoughts and solutions!
