Hey everyone, I’ve been having some issues with my Shelly devices lately, and I thought I’d share my experience in case it helps someone else.
So, a few weeks ago, I decided to reset two of my Shelly 2.5 devices. I followed the usual process—holding down the reset button for about 10 seconds—and everything seemed to go smoothly. But here’s where the problem started: after the reset, the devices were still asking for a username and password, which was really confusing because I thought they come with a default setup.
I tried reaching out to some forums and doing a bit of research, and it turns out that even after a factory reset, some Shelly devices might still retain certain configurations. After some trial and error, I found that the solution was to completely remove the devices from my network and then add them again as new devices. This process involved deleting them from my router’s connected devices list and then going through the setup again from scratch.
It was a bit of a hassle, but it worked! Now, my Shelly devices are running like new, and I don’t have to deal with the login issues anymore.
If anyone else is experiencing similar problems, I’d recommend trying this approach. It’s important to be patient and methodical when troubleshooting these kinds of issues. Let me know if you have any questions or if there’s another way you’ve solved this problem!
Cheers,
Marco
