Shelly Button Configuration Tips and Tricks

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with setting up a Shelly Button to control my smart lighting system. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I think I’ve got it figured out!

First, I installed the Shelly Button on my wall and connected it to my network. Everything seemed to work fine at first—my phone could detect the button, and it showed up in the Shelly app. But when I tried to create a scene to turn on my living room lights, nothing happened. I was a bit puzzled, to say the least.

After some research and trial and error, I realized that the issue was with how I had configured the button’s mode. I had it set to “Switch” mode, which only allows for basic on/off functionality. Once I changed it to “Momentary” mode in the Shelly app, the button started working perfectly with my scenes!

Another thing I discovered was the importance of firmware updates. I had to manually update my button’s firmware through the Shelly app, which was a quick and painless process. After the update, the button became even more responsive.

For anyone else struggling with Shelly Button configuration, here are a few tips:

  • Double-check your button mode settings in the app.
  • Make sure your firmware is up to date.
  • Test your scenes in different modes to see what works best for your setup.

It’s amazing how a little tweak can make such a big difference! I’m now fully enjoying my hands-free smart lighting system. Hopefully, this helps someone else out there who’s having similar issues. Happy automating! :rocket:
