I’ve been really impressed with how versatile Shelly devices are for automating my home. I’ve been using the Shelly Plus 2PM units to control my outdoor lights, and they’ve been a game-changer for scheduling and remote access. However, I’ve encountered a puzzling issue that I’m hoping the community can help with.
After setting up a couple of new Shelly Plus 2PM units, I noticed that they stopped responding after a factory reset. I followed the standard setup process: connecting via the default WLAN, assigning a static IP, and updating the firmware. Everything seemed to go smoothly, but upon restarting, the devices became unreachable. Even after multiple resets and configuration attempts, the issue persists. It’s frustrating because these devices worked perfectly out of the box, but now they’re unresponsive.
I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this and if there’s a workaround or a specific configuration step I might have missed. I’ve heard about flashing devices with custom firmware, but I’m not sure how to approach that safely. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
On a positive note, I’ve successfully integrated my Shelly devices with Vera Edge, and it’s been seamless. The ability to control everything from one interface is fantastic. I’d love to hear how others are using Shelly devices in their setups and any tips for optimizing performance.
Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other troubleshoot these fantastic devices!
