Shelly Dimmer 2: URL Command Troubleshooting & Solution

Hey everyone, I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my Shelly Dimmer 2 lately, and I thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else is going through the same issue. I’ve been using the Shelly 1PM to send URL commands to my Shelly Dimmer 2, and for a while, everything was working perfectly. But over the past few weeks, the commands stopped working, and I couldn’t figure out why. I tried rebooting both devices, factory resetting them, and even double-checking the IP address to make sure there were no typos. Nothing seemed to work, and it was pretty frustrating.

After a bit of research and some trial and error, I stumbled upon a solution that worked for me. It turns out that the command format I was using might have been slightly off. I decided to modify the URL command to ensure it was correctly formatted. Instead of using <http://192.168.xxx.xxx/light/0?/turn=toggle>, I changed it to <http://192.168.xxx.xxx/light/0?turn=toggle>. Removing the extra slash seemed to make all the difference, and now the commands are working again!

I wanted to share this in case anyone else is experiencing similar issues. Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference.
