Shelly Dimmer Calibration Issue Solved

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Shelly Dimmer calibration issue I encountered recently. It was quite a puzzle, but I managed to resolve it, and I thought it might be helpful to document the process for others who might face a similar challenge.

So, the problem started when one of my Shelly Dimmers stopped responding after an update. It would turn on briefly and then shut off immediately, regardless of whether I used the app, the web interface, or the physical switch. The dimmer was supposed to control a 42W Hologen lamp, which works perfectly with other dimmers in my setup. I tried all the standard troubleshooting steps—resetting, restarting, and checking the firmware—but nothing worked. I was a bit stuck, to be honest.

After some research, I came across a suggestion to check the device’s power supply. I hadn’t considered this before, but it made sense. The dimmer was connected to a circuit that also powered some other devices, and I suspected a voltage fluctuation might be causing the issue. I decided to isolate the dimmer by connecting it to a dedicated circuit, which I had lying around. Lo and behold, the dimmer started working perfectly again!

This experience taught me the importance of checking the power supply when dealing with smart home devices, especially after updates or changes in firmware. It also highlighted how sometimes the simplest solutions can resolve what initially seems like a complex problem.

I hope this helps someone else who might be struggling with a similar issue. It’s always reassuring to know that even when things go sideways, there’s usually a straightforward fix waiting to be discovered. Happy dimming everyone! :rocket:
