Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with setting up the Shelly Dimmer2 in my home. I’ve been into home automation for a while, but this was a new challenge for me. A couple of weeks ago, I installed two Shelly Dimmer2 units to control my living room lamps. The first lamp worked perfectly right out of the box—calibration went smoothly, and I could adjust the brightness without any issues. However, the second lamp was a bit of a puzzle. Despite the Shelly app indicating successful calibration, the dimmer didn’t respond as expected. When I set it to 100%, the lamp would draw too much power and turn off immediately! After some trial and error, I realized the optimal setting was around 50%.I reached out to the community for advice and discovered that manual calibration was the solution. By adjusting the min and max values in the Shelly settings, I was able to fine-tune the dimmer to work perfectly with my lamp’s transformer. It was a bit tricky, but with some guidance from the forums, I got it sorted out. This experience taught me the importance of understanding your hardware’s specifications and not being afraid to dive into manual settings. The Shelly Dimmer2 is a fantastic device, and with a little tweaking, it can integrate seamlessly into any smart home setup. If anyone else is having similar issues, I’d be happy to share my calibration settings or troubleshoot together. Happy automating! ![]()
