Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to share some of my recent experiences with my Shelly EM and a camera issue I’ve been dealing with. First, let me talk about the Shelly EM. I installed it in my UK Consumer Unit and attached the 50A clamp around the incoming live tail. Everything seems to be working correctly in terms of wiring, but I noticed something interesting: the Power Factor (PF) and Reactive Power are showing as negative. The PF is consistently around -0.67, which is quite low. I also compared the power measurements with my smart meter, and there’s a significant discrepancy—my smart meter shows 415W, while the Shelly EM reports 281W. I tried reversing the clamp, which turned the PF positive but made the Power negative. I’m a bit puzzled by this, as there’s no solar or other load that should negatively impact the PF. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to resolve it?
Now, moving on to the camera issue. I have a camera on my front porch that frequently reports an event around 5:51 AM. When I check the recordings, there’s never anything there. This started happening after the summer time change, and it’s still occurring at the same time. I find it a bit frustrating because it’s a ghost event—nothing is actually happening. I’ve noticed that this doesn’t happen on any of my other cameras, so it’s specific to this one. I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with the camera’s settings or if it’s a software issue. I’ve tried checking the firmware, but it’s up to date. Has anyone else encountered this kind of ghost event? Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated!
Overall, I’m really enjoying my setup, but these two issues are a bit of a nuisance. I’m hoping the community can help me figure them out. Thanks in advance for your insights and advice!
