I think no presence sensor is perfect for now, for example my FP1 detects my ceiling fan during summer and I can’t do much about it.

The night mode is essential at home because it prevents firing lights during sleep

I just installed an FP2 in my bedroom. I love it. The FP2’s zones just take it to the next level. The bedroom is often considered the hardest place to automate. I currently have my bed in a “blind” zone so the lights don’t come on when I roll over. I also have the lights come on very dimly (and red) after a certain time so if I have to pee I won’t disturb my wife (or she, me). It’s up to you whether you want to wait for the 400. Not sure how long the wait will be.

I have an FP2 and still can’t see me in the bed so, I won’t rely on it either. It is so long way to go with these kind of sensors to work as we desire.

I get it. Mine sees me if I raise my head or roll over, but not when I’m just laying down. And messages like this don’t help me at all: “The installation mode does not keep in line with the monitoring mode.” :tired_face:

Thanks all again for the input. For now I am keeping bedroom automations off at night until 08:00 or I explicitly say everyone is up. My plan is to get one (and if it works, more) of these bed sensors if they will ship to the UK: https://www.elevatedsensors.com/. That way simply lying still in bed also becomes an indicator of room occupancy.

I wouldn’t do it! The fp300 is way better presence sensor that the fp200 in my opinion. But I have pointing down in my office and right away detected everything. And the fp200 is also good but sometimes it glitches in my opinion I like the fp300 better

I’m not sure exactly but maybe set acting durations on your automations I have fp300s all over and use certain times to have the lights bright during the day and dimmer at night and I pair them with the h2 dimmer switch so if someone wants the lights brighter or dimmer they can adjust it manually. This way I have my automations always going and can walk in and out of rooms with the lights going in and off cause of the fp300 and then if guests are here they can dim or brighten if needed but just using the manual switch the h2 dimmer switch and cause I decoupled it allows my automations to always run but allow people to adjust based on there preferences but when they leave the room and come back even if they adjusted it my automation will be back to how I set it rather then what they set it at

Thanks, and yes, I have a similar setup with automatic lights and intuitive manual overrides which reset when the room becomes empty.

My main (and original) issue is that the FP300 loses sight of someone asleep and so it appears that the bedroom is empty. I now don’t think that the FP2 would be any better in this regard, and my planned solution is a bed sensor. alongside the FP300.
