Hello everyone, I’m excited to share my experience with the Nuki smart locks and see if I can get some tips or insights from the community. I’ve been using Nuki openers for a while now, and they’ve been a game-changer for my home security and convenience. However, I’m trying to streamline my setup even further and would love to hear your thoughts.
Here’s the situation: I have two Nuki openers installed—one for the main entrance and another for a private entrance. Both are connected to the same Nuki Bridge, which makes managing them a breeze. The main entrance has a guest access code and an owner access code, while the private entrance is exclusively for owners. Currently, both openers use the same access code for owners, which is convenient, but I’m looking to take it a step further.
What I’d love to achieve is this: when an owner enters the access code at the main entrance, I want the private entrance to automatically open as well, either immediately or with a slight delay. This would eliminate the need for owners to enter the code twice, making the entry process seamless. I’m curious if anyone else has implemented something similar or if there are any potential challenges I should be aware of.
Here’s a quick breakdown of my current setup:
- Main Entrance: Nuki Opener #1 with guest and owner access codes.
- Private Entrance: Nuki Opener #2 with owner access code only.
- Both Openers: Connected to the same Nuki Bridge for centralized management.
I’m thinking this could be achieved through some smart automation rules, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure it. If anyone has experience with Nuki integrations or similar setups, I’d love to hear your advice or step-by-step guide. Your insights could help me create a more efficient and user-friendly smart home environment!
Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences. Let’s make home access even smarter together! ![]()
