Slow facial recognition, any tip to speed up the process

Hi new here, but not to aqara products, I have a G410 doorbell, I have set an automation to facial recognition to open D100 door lock, it works , but it does take about 30 seconds or so to initiate, any tips on how to speed this process up would be fantastic.

Regards
Jamie

Hello, welcome to the forum. Take a look and check if the automation is not cloud-based. If it is cloud-based, try rewriting it and making it local. If this automation uses AI, then you need to look at the quality of the Internet. With the use of AI, all automation is cloud-based.

Are you sure about that?

The G5 Pro is equipped with a built-in NPU (Neural Processing Unit), which enables device-internal AI object recognition and noise detection.

I couldn’t find any information about a built-in NPU for the Doorbell Camera Hub G410, but the shop at least mentions “on-device face recognition.”

Hello, regarding the G5, I know that facial recognition is local (that’s why it has the Pro prefix). I checked this function personally during testing.
Regarding the video call, I doubt that the recognition is at the level of the call camera (I don’t have one).
An Aqara specialist @Aqara_PM_Donie can answer this question.

Thanks for all the input, I factory reset the g410, seems to be quite a bit faster now

Also, sometimes the device can detect the same face as different people. Check and see if your face is in there twice. I’ve found combining them together makes it more accurate and the automations smoother.
