Hey everyone, I’m trying to set up a smart alarm automation in my home and I’m running into a bit of a snag. Let me walk you through what I’m trying to achieve and where I’m getting stuck.
So, the goal is to have my alarm system automatically arm itself when I leave the house. I’ve set it up so that when the last person leaves (detected by the home zone), the alarm should switch to ‘away’ mode. Simple enough, right?
I’ve configured the automation using Home Assistant, and the trigger seems to be working perfectly. I tested it with a binary sensor that simulates someone leaving, and I even get a notification on my phone confirming the trigger worked. The issue is, the alarm just won’t change its state. It stays exactly where it was set manually.
I’m using a Bosch Smart Home Controller, and I can manually switch the alarm state without any issues using the Home Assistant interface. This makes me think there might be some confusion between the alarm system integrated into Home Assistant and the one managed by the Bosch controller. Maybe they’re not syncing properly?
I’ve tried troubleshooting by checking the entity IDs and ensuring all integrations are up to date, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. I’m wondering if anyone else has dealt with a similar situation, especially with older Bosch controllers. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help. Let’s make this smart home setup work like it’s supposed to! ![]()
