Smart Bathroom Fan Automation Success Story

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in setting up a smart bathroom fan system. I’ve been trying to figure out how to automate my bathroom fan without using an ESP32, and I’m thrilled to say I finally cracked it!The goal was simple: I wanted the fan to turn on manually with a switch, but also automatically when the humidity reached a certain level, and stay on for a set duration. After some research and trial and error, I managed to achieve this using Sonoff devices and HomeAssistant. Here’s what I did: I connected a Sonoff basic switch to the fan and paired it with a Sonoff TH10 humidity sensor. Using HomeAssistant’s automation rules, I set it up so that when the humidity sensor detects a level above 60%, the fan turns on and stays active for 15 minutes. I also kept the manual switch functionality intact, so if someone wants to turn the fan on or off immediately, they can.The setup was surprisingly straightforward once I figured out the right configuration in HomeAssistant. I had to play around with the automation triggers and conditions a bit, but the community resources and documentation were super helpful.I’d love to hear if anyone else has tackled a similar project or has tips for improving this setup. It’s been working perfectly for the past week, and it’s such a nice convenience to have the fan automatically kick in after a shower without any extra effort. If you’re looking to automate your bathroom fan or any similar setup, I highly recommend giving this approach a try. It’s a great way to add a bit of smart home convenience without breaking the bank or getting too deep into complex coding.Happy automating everyone! :rocket:
