Smart Bed Heater Project and Integration Tips

Hi all, I wanted to share a fun project I recently completed—a smart bed heater! It’s been a great way to stay warm during the colder months, and I thought it might inspire others to try something similar. The setup uses Home Assistant and an ESPHome device, which has been a breeze to integrate into my existing smart home ecosystem. I’ve also added a timer function to make it even more convenient, thanks to some tips I found online.

While working on this project, I stumbled upon some interesting discussions in the community. For instance, I saw a post about integrating a Warmup under-floor heating system into Home Assistant. The user was having trouble getting their sensors to show as available, but after some digging, they found that adjusting the sensor setup in their configuration.yaml file made all the difference. It’s amazing how a small tweak can solve such a frustrating issue!

Another topic that caught my eye was about setting global color temperature limits for lights. The user mentioned how having inconsistent min and max color temperature settings across different lamps was messing up their color scale in the UI. They wanted to set a universal range to make everything look consistent. I can definitely relate to that frustration—it’s one of those details that can really impact the user experience. Thankfully, there are workarounds, and it’s great to see the community sharing solutions.

Lastly, I came across a thread about using a Schlage Wi-Fi lock with ADC. The user was looking for step-by-step instructions, and while I haven’t tackled this myself yet, it’s fascinating to see how these locks can be seamlessly integrated into a smart home setup. I’m definitely keeping this in mind for future projects!

Overall, it’s incredible to see the creativity and problem-solving within this community. Whether it’s building DIY projects or finding clever workarounds for common issues, there’s always something new to learn. If anyone has tips or experiences to share about their own smart home projects, I’d love to hear about them! Happy automating!
