Smart Blinds Integration with Temperature Sensors: A Smooth Experience

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent experience integrating my motorized blinds with a temperature sensor using Homey. I’ve been using 15 motorized blinds from Luxaflex/hunter Douglas with a Hub 2.0, and I wanted to take my automation to the next level by linking them with an Aqara temperature sensor. The goal was to have the blinds automatically adjust when the temperature exceeds 25°C, ensuring optimal comfort without manual intervention.

After some research, I discovered that there’s a plugin available for Homey that supports this integration. I decided to give it a try, and to my delight, the setup was much smoother than I anticipated. I configured the plugin to trigger the blinds to lower to the minimum position when the temperature sensor detects values above 25°C. This has been a game-changer, especially during the warmer months when I want to keep the house cool without constantly adjusting the blinds manually.

One thing I’d like to mention is the importance of ensuring that all devices are on the same network and that the Homey hub is correctly configured. I also found it helpful to test the automation with different temperature thresholds to ensure it works seamlessly.

If anyone has questions about the plugin, setup, or even tips for optimizing this automation, I’d be happy to share my experience. It’s amazing how integrating smart devices can enhance our daily lives, and I’m eager to hear how others have implemented similar systems in their homes. Happy automating! :sun_with_face:
