Smart Coffee Machine Integration Success Story

I’m thrilled to share my recent success with integrating my Expressi Cube coffee machine into Home Assistant! :tada: After months of planning, I finally brought this project to life using a Wemos D1 Mini, ESPHome, and a few other components. The result? A fully automated coffee experience that’s as smooth as the brew itself! :coffee:

The Setup
I used a Wemos D1 Mini paired with an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to monitor the water tank level and a 4066 IC for control. Everything is powered by a Hi-Link HLK-PM01. The best part? The only visible change is a small cable from the machine to the water tank lid—no bulky additions to worry about!

The Automation
I tied this setup to my morning alarm. Now, every day, my coffee machine wakes up, does its pre-brew rinse, and is ready to go by the time I’m up. It even sends me a notification when it’s done! Plus, I can check the water level and control it manually from my phone—perfect for those last-minute adjustments.

The Future
While the current setup works like a charm, I’m already brainstorming ways to improve it. A PCB redesign is on the horizon, and I’m excited to see how this project evolves. If anyone has tips or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

This project has been a fantastic way to start my mornings on the right foot. It’s a small reminder of how technology can enhance everyday routines. If you’re thinking of diving into DIY projects, I highly recommend giving this a try—it’s rewarding and fun! :rocket:

Cheers to smart coffee and even smarter mornings! :coffee::sparkles:
