Smart Home Automation and Energy Efficiency Tips

I’ve been really enjoying experimenting with my smart home setup lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with the community. :star2:

One thing that’s been a game-changer for me is setting up automated scenes. For instance, I’ve programmed my lights to dim gradually in the evenings, creating a cozy atmosphere without manually adjusting each bulb. It’s such a small detail, but it makes a big difference in how I experience my home. :bulb:

I also recently integrated a Mosquito Zapper into my outdoor setup, and it’s been surprisingly effective. I’ve heard mixed reviews about these devices, but the one I chose uses UV light to attract pests and has a built-in sensor to zap them. It’s eco-friendly and keeps my backyard enjoyable during the summer months. :mosquito::sparkles:

Another tip I’d like to share is about energy monitoring. I’ve been using my Shelly Plus PM Mini to track the power consumption of my kitchen appliances. It’s eye-opening to see how much energy certain devices use, and it’s motivated me to be more mindful about my usage. For example, I now run my dishwasher during off-peak hours to save on electricity costs. :chart_with_upwards_trend::moneybag:

If anyone has tips on how to improve the reliability of motion sensors or suggestions for creating even more seamless automations, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep sharing ideas to make our smart homes smarter and more efficient. :handshake:
