Smart Home Automation: Experiences and Insights

As someone who has been exploring the world of smart home automation, I wanted to share some of my experiences and insights, as well as ask a few questions to the community.

I recently set up a Shelly EM device to monitor my solar production, which has been a great addition to my setup. However, I accidentally ordered two converters, and now I’m wondering if there’s a creative way to use the extra one. I have a junction box where the phase to my garden house is located, and I’m considering measuring the outgoing and incoming phases. If anyone has similar experience or ideas, I’d love to hear them!

Another topic I’m curious about is the integration of different smart home devices. For example, I’ve heard about using NFC tags to trigger Alexa routines, but I’m not sure how reliable this is in real-world scenarios. Has anyone successfully implemented this, and if so, what tips would you share?

On a lighter note, I recently stumbled upon a fun feature in my smart lights: the ability to set a gradual wake-up light. It’s such a nice way to start the day, and I’m thinking about expanding this to other areas of my home. If anyone has tips on creating smooth lighting transitions or has tried similar setups, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

Lastly, I wanted to express my gratitude to the community for all the helpful resources and support. It’s amazing to see how much can be achieved with the right setup and a little creativity. If anyone has questions or tips about their own smart home setups, feel free to share—I’m always eager to learn more!

Cheers,
